Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt; a booking may never produce charges or may end in dismissal or acquittal.
Bond records need the same care. The jail accepts cash or credit-card payment through GovPayNet when bond is available. Call first for transaction details; the card service charge is 7%. A bond entry shows a release mechanism or condition, not guilt. Current Illinois pretrial practice and later court orders can alter what appears at intake, so verify release terms in the court file.
A dismissed charge can remain visible in an arrest or booking record because dismissal changes the prosecution, not the historical fact of custody.
